Announcing the End of Support for AVG Anti-Virus 6.0

On December 31, 2004, support for AVG 6.0 will be discontinued. All virus database updates, program updates, as well as technical support for the product will no longer be available after this date! In order to continue to be protected by AVG Anti-Virus, you must be using AVG 7.0. Read more...

General Virus Information

There are many useful sites that pertain to Computer Viruses, and their removal. In particular Symantec, (Norton's) is extremely helpful. Follow the links in the "Security Alerts" box to the right.

McAfee also offers a very useful virus removal tool, called "Stinger" that gets rid of many of the common viruses, and can be downloaded here.

Tips & Tricks

Windows Updates

Check your Windows updates. If you have been doing the "Critical Updates" when Windows tells you to, (as most systems have been programmed to do so), you have been a "good little computer user". Otherwise you can scan the updates manually by;

1. Open up your Internet Explorer (Go on the Internet)

2. Click On "Tools"

3. Click on "Windows Updates"

4. Follow instructions. The "Critical Updates" are the important ones that are required.
